2022 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT

Filed Aug 5, 2026

I am reporting what I believe is a safety‑related defect involving the automatic transmission in my 2022 Land Rover Discovery Sport, VIN [XXX]. Approximately five months after the factory warranty expired, at around 44,000 miles, the transmission began slipping unexpectedly, and the vehicle would not accelerate above roughly 25–35 mph. This occurred while driving, creating an unsafe condition. I needed to make a left turn across traffic, but because the vehicle would not accelerate properly…

2021 LAND ROVER DEFENDER

Filed Aug 5, 2026

The left headlight daytime running light has died due to a defective chip in the light itself. It may cause a higher chance of a daytime wreck because of reduced visibility. Also, more chance of me getting pulled over for my headlight not working. Apparently it’s a common issue that JLR know about, but won’t do anything. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Special Service Message (SSM) 75479 relates to the premature failure or dimming of the Daytime Running Light (DRL) halo on premium LED headlights,…

2026 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT

Filed Aug 4, 2026

NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint Narrative I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a safety-related defect involving the power liftgate on my 2026 Range Rover Sport. Prior to the incident described below, the vehicle’s power liftgate had unexpectedly opened on two separate occasions after it had been closed. Although those earlier events did not result in damage, they caused concern because the liftgate opened without my intentionally activating it. On July 2, 2026, while…

2021 LAND ROVER DEFENDER

Filed Aug 4, 2026

The contact owns a 2021 Land Rover Defender. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR

Filed Aug 3, 2026

The backup camera on my 2021 Velar has stopped functioning. Service confirmed not a wiring issue and claims it is the NFSM Module not functioning correctly. There are several recalls on the module that include the model and year of my Velar. Although my VIN number is not included in the recall, it is highly suspect that it is a known faulty module for the year and model amongst other models from 2020-2024. It is a safely hazard and one that should not fall under the consumers responsibility.…

2015 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE

Filed Aug 3, 2026

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that after refueling, it was discovered that fuel was leaking under the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was later towed to the residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

2018 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT

Filed Aug 1, 2026

While driving approximately 30 mph in June 2024, my 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport unexpectedly displayed Gearbox Fault and Brake Fault warnings and shifted itself into Park while the vehicle was moving. The vehicle became immobilized in the roadway and could not be shifted out of Park for an extended period. The identical failure occurred again in July 2025 and July 2026. During the 2025 and 2026 events, the vehicle again became locked in Park and left me stranded. During the 2026 incident,…

2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE

Filed Aug 1, 2026

The center console infotainment display screen fails to boot on vehicle start-up, remaining entirely blank/black. Because the screen stays black, critical vehicle interfaces—including the mandatory rear-view backup camera system—are fully non-functional, creating a compliance and safety concern. This specific failure mode—a clock-synchronization mismatch causing a blank display at startup and loss of the backup camera—is identical to the defect addressed under Land Rover Safety Recall N972…
